爱丁堡游览2 Edinburgh Trip 2 11/20

Above: Eating a Scottish meat pie, it tasted so good!!!! Just like my mother's meat pie!! I so want to eat 'em in London but don't know if there is any around.
Above: Charlotte Square with the statue of the knight.
Below: Near the Bank of Scotland!
Without any further a due, I shall describe my photos from my Edinburgh trip.
Above: St. Andrew's Square; I'm not sure what the monument is though.
Below: This should be obvious, it's by Waverley Station, the train station that we took from King's Cross Station in London to here. The Edinburgh Castle is in the background.

? A museum, a house, something significant I can't remember.
Above: I just love these souvenir shops particularly the Scottish ones!! There are a variety assortments of the Scottish pipers' skirts; it seems so enchanting and hilarious watching 'em playing the pipe on the street near the station.
Above: Nice view of the buildings.

Above 2: On the very top of the highlands! You can see the whole city down below; it looks absolutely magnificent! This reminds a lot of OC and CA mountains.
Above: The lake looks beautiful, it feels like if I'm in the English Countryside again back in October. The ducks swimming in the lake are peaceful and playful as always.

Looks like a nice gallery full of exhibits inside.
Above: The front gate leading to the Holyrood Palaces
Below: Side gate leading to the Holyrood Palaces...just like the one that I posted in my previous blog.

大英图书馆11/19 爱丁堡游览1 11/20 British Library visit & Edinburgh Trip

Above 2: By the outside of the Holyrood Palaces!! Looking very historic because it was established sometime in the 15th century!! Scotland was merely an agricultural state back then.
Above: The Holyrood Palaces of Scotland!! Majestic indeed!!
Above: We're the tourists of a group. We're all glancing @ our tour guide/highland piper Robin playing his instrument. We're about to hear the history of the Holyrood Palaces.

Below: Our group walking towards the Holyrood Palaces.
All righty, so I've finally uploaded both the British Library photos and the Edinburgh Trip Day 1 photos!! I shall explain them shortly but what's important was that I toured alone for both of these trips. Though I felt quite lonely at times, I still managed cope with isolation. I tried to make friends of course on the Edinburgh trip, and it was a success in one way because I managed to befriend our official tour guide-Tom! He's from my hometown Shenyang and speaks our dialogue too!! When we talked, he almost always made me laugh by speaking in such a hilarious and peculiar way. But on the other hand, most of the times I'm still alone. Well, this is NOT the first time that I was like this, in the US I was lonely @ times too! But that's no problem for me now, after all, I know the only person who you can rely on is yourself. Regardless of where you are, you have to know how to take care of yourself to NOT get deceived by others. Anyways, making true friends sometimes can be hard.
Above: It's our tour guide/highland piper Robin, he's a native of Scotland.

Above 2: photos of Edinburgh, Scotland! I don't recall the exact name of that "overburned castle" but it was closer to the amusement park on Waverley Bridge road.

Above 2: @ the station 5:45am!! Yeah, we ALL had to get up extremely early to catch the 6:15 train to Edinburgh!! I got up @ 4:00 just to pack again for the trip! What's worse was that the underground stations didn't open 'til 5:45 or 6:00. Therefore, I had to take the expensive TAXI!!! that costed me £20!! I could have taken the bus but was afraid that I might be late! At any case, I was there on time though it costed me £20!

Above 2: By the Homo sapien statue near the British Library?? I need to check on that statue and its inscription again!
Entrance to the British Library.

Above 4: Should be obvious, inside the British Library. On the 3rd(4th, top) floor and by the toilets. The painting on the wall was gorgeous.
Above: British Library Entrance

Below: Homo sapien statue?? Again, I don't really know. I need to accommodate my time right to check the inscriptions.

克文特花园市场11/12 Covent Garden Market visit(2/2)

Above & Below: @ the Covent Garden back entrance. I should thank the lady who took these photos for me. She's so nice!
Hey all!! I really missed Blogspot after I haven't uploaded or posted any blogs for a week. I was away last week; I went to Edinburgh, Scotland!!!!!!!! It was such an inspiring, awesome, and unforgettable journey there!! I'll post those photos possibly on my December 2009 blogs because I need to finish my previously taken photos first. At any case, Edinburgh was definitely a great city to visit! It's quite different from London because there were hills, high steep roads, and near the northern sea. So it was colder than London. At any case, I loved my journey. I'll emphasize more on that later.
Above: Looks like a costume shop by the east side of the Market.
Above & Below: Looks like there's a mini concert performance on the bottom. The 4 musician as you can see if on the left where the metal bars are were playing. Their jam session sounded quite pleasant, so I pretended to be the flutist. Then below just me on the top floor listening to the live performance.

Above: Hilarious circus guys doing a performance. The "Umbrella Man" pretends to be a spectator who watches his partner joggle the tool up in the sky and catch it as it comes down.
Above: And voila! He caught it right after the tool bounced off the roof of the church!! True master indeed!
Above & Below: Circus guys trying to joggle two balls simultaneously. They reminds me of seals @ seaworld because that's what the seals did, NOT circus men! At any case, doing a little jig as you see below can be very entertaining when combined with circus skills!

克文特花园市场11/12 Covent Garden Market visit(1/2)

By the tall tree, I surmise this should be the Christmas Tree because it reminds me of those decorative trees right before the holiday. It was taken in the drizzling rain but turned out to be clear and bright.
Above: Here as I mentioned these circus members could not only juggling footballs like masters, but can only make silly poses like that of above to make you laugh. Is it hilarious to see 'em do that? It almost seemed as if everything was choreographed like in dance.
Above: Me by the Apple Market, it does NOT sell APPLES. That's just the name of this shopping lane. They have souvenirs, clothing stores, restaurants, toy stores, and other fun shops. However, there was also a fruit stand right in front of this lane(it got cut offed from my photo, it should be on the very left of the photo where there's the red table).

Below: My neck feels quite warm from the massage product that I tried on. Looks like I won't need to wear a scarf for the winter anymore.
Ok, remember last week I said I went to Covent Garden Market for entertainments and photos? Well here they are! I took many photos of the circus shows and the market! Though I went there by myself again, I was still happy with the time that I spend there. Those 2 circus members were hilariously entertaining and skillful; they can not only juggle the football like pros but can also make funny poses just to make me laugh. At any case, they were awesome, and I admired their talents. So here are the commentaries.
Circus guys juggling the football like a pro.
The toy shop's captain statue...It seems like he found a new island full of treasures in the distance.

Above: The Royal Opera House. I never went in there and don't know about the opera they've shown.
Above: Pretty self-explanatory. I did not go see the exhibits though.

Above 2: Mr. Circus master is on the unicycle balancing & juggling knives...funny, skillful, and courageous indeed!!!!

So overall, that was 1 of my most satisfied days here in London!

By the way, I'm leaving for Edinburgh tomorrow! But I'm travelling there by myself again because none of my friends here have time to commit for the trip. But I'm NOT worried at all because there will be a guide to accompany me and hopefully, I get to tour around Scotland's most beautiful places!!
